2019 was a particularly difficult year for me. As it came to an end and I began to stare the beginning of 2020 in the face I decided to enter a Gratitude Year—that is, intentionally looking for a gratitude each day, documenting it, and sharing it with others.
I did not expect the gratitude practice to hold me as we entered and endured a global pandemic, as I embarked on a cross-country move back to my home of origin, and as I began the transition to working for myself.
This project taught me that gratitude is a rewiring practice—it asks you to face the circumstances of your life with the expectation that even on the hardest days there are glimmers of light pouring through.
